Mathematics is something you need in your day-to-day life and it is described as a subject which cuts across other subject areas. During your stay in school you study a number of topics in mathematics including probability in your elementary school and higher places of learning. The topics taught in the public institutions are many and you cannot exhaust mentioning them in a goal. Pupils and students alike learn various topics with desire but, when it comes to this particular topic called probability they find it so hard to comprehend. Syllabuses are arranged sequentially and probability is usually handled after statistics has been well established. Teachers do find the topic to be interesting but the opposite is true for students learning that aspect of mathematics.
Probability is applied in playing deck cards, applied in the area of numbers, applied in sports, used in the field of test. The term probability could mean chance, could mean possibility, could mean luck and so on. Briefly put probability is looking at an issue coming into existence or not existence, that is, you there or not being there, the possibility of it raining or not raining in a particular locality or town. It is applied usually whenever you have difficulty in deciding for an event or settling on something in your life. In higher places of learning you might understand that probability is a major aspect on its own and there is no dispute about that at all in real life. However, beginners in the elementary school might have some thoughts that conditions them to have love for the topic probability.
Events are organized from time to time and there is the issue of that event will come first before the other and so on. This kind of events can easily be solved by probability techniques especially flipping a coin or tossing of a coin. Flipping of a coin is applied in many sporting activities such as football, quizzes, volleyball, table tennis ball and some others. In football matches a coin is flipped by the referee to know which of the teams will begin the game. Team A may pick the side of the coin called head and the other team called team B will choose the other side called tail. The referee flipped the coin and allow the coin to roll till it settles without moving again, the side that faces up will applaud the winner of the toss.
Therefore, that particular team which chose the appropriate side will begin the football game and subsequently followed by their opponents. In other games such as volley ball, table tennis ball the idea is basically the same in terms of who will begin the game. Schools use coin tossing to decide which of the two schools will start answering questions posed by the quiz mistress or master.
Using coin flip in games is crucial and cannot be overlooked especially so when a particular game atmosphere is intense. It is used solving problems like disputes between two parties that are involved in a match situation. More so, is used in separating two teams which have an argument in a game situation, doing that ensures fairness in the game.
